- SFAB: After demonstrating professionalism throughout my Board service dating to 2008, I was the unanimous choice of my peers to lead FINRA’s Small Firm Advisory Board as Chair in 2010. In that role, I have taken action carefully evaluate proposed regulation on behalf of small firms.
- NAIBD: A member since 1992 and active on the Board and various committees since that time, I served the NAIBD as its Chairman from 2006-2008. I have chaired the association’s Membership Advocacy Committee from 2000 to present. As such, my track record as an advocate speaks for itself. I have engaged submitted numerous comments and participated in numerous meetings with FINRA staff to improve the regulatory landscape for small firms.
Executive Leadership
- I have held executive positions with NASD/FINRA member firms since the 1990’s beginning with First Allied Securities (formerly, First Affiliated Securities) and including Corporate Securities Group/JW Charles Securities and Royal Alliance Securities. In 2001, I bought Keystone Capital Corporation, a small independent broker-dealer based in San Diego CA.
- Previously, I was the founder and former CEO of ComplianceMAX Financial Corporation (acquired in 2007 by National Regulatory Services). Alongside my talented staff at that company, I dedicated considerable effort in the design and development of compliance tools and technologies for small firms.
Personal Leadership
My husband Dave and I are the proud parents of three:
- Sarah, a published researcher in the field of adolescent psychology who will be entering a PhD program at Georgia State University in the fall;
- David, a licensed securities professional who heads Keystone Capital’s retail and institutional brokerage sales divisions as the company’s President; and
- Dennis, an accomplished athlete and Cum Laude Scholar who will be entering the University of California Berkeley in the fall.
- I am the most recent Past-Chair of the Board of Responsibility, a charity that supports education for children living alongside municipal dumpsites in Tijuana Mexico and Nicaragua.
- I play left wing on a competitive women's soccer team and, when time allows, Dave and I enjoy sailing in the Pacific waters around San Diego.
